Since I wrote my column, “Stupid Deaf People: 2090 Coalition Behaving Badly,” a follow-up to “Not in My Backyard: The Truth About the Fight for a Deaf School’s Future,” much has happened in Rocky Mountain Deaf School’s struggle to secure a property on which it can build a facility of its own.

In the foothills of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, a battle is unfolding that could have implications for the future of deaf education. During a week when much of the Deaf community’s attention was elsewhere, a small charter school went head to head with a local neighborhood group, with the future of hundreds of deaf children at stake.
The Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens is sponsoring a Deaf Culture Salon on June 1st, 2012. The Salon will be At Thompson Hall in St. Paul, MN
Interview with Signmark, the International Deaf Musician from Finland. He explains his inspiration and mission behind his music as a deaf person.
This interview is in ASL without Captioning. For those who desire spoken language access, I also videotaped his speech at his "Silent Shout" where he provided a similar message with voice interpreting:
Harvey Nathanson explains what it means to him as a deaf person to see performance by Deaf Rapper Signmark at the University of Minnesota on May 3rd.
Signmark, the International Deaf rapper from Finland, came to the University of Minnesota on May 2nd to perform a "Silent Shout" with the aim of bringing people together, Deaf and Hearing.
He provided a synopis of the message of his music and the 'Silent Shout' and a free public participatory music event.
The speech was voice interpreted for those who need spoken language access.
