For the past 20 years, I had deaf dogs, because I insisted on getting one. Currently, we have a delightful deaf Dalmatian, with liver spots. Each time one adopts a deaf dog, he saves that dog's life. Why? That's because AKC insist all "deformed or deficit" dog be put to sleep. So, please do spread awareness of our Deaf community's affinity to deaf dogs!

I adopted a deaf pure breed Catahoula Leopard dog when she was 6 months ago through deaf.org. She flew (I felt terrible having her fly over in a crate) from California to Buffalo; then travelling with me to her new home in Canada. Roxy is now one and half year old. She responds to 16 signs as of now. She is so adorable and friendly. I have never regretted. Her deaf brother has been adopted by a owner from Georgia. I appreciate deafdogs.org for listing dogs to adopt. robyn
