Get new innovation of governing body at GU

How can we change it...Asking for independent congressional review to invesitgate the case; elective new president from the screening committee ruling by Board of Trustees. Proclaiming the problems of social justice around the campus which it needs to be solve immediately.

Start new elective Board of Trustees, major ruling seats of minorities, which they will be able to understand their empathy of disabilities and the use of humanitarian practices. It is the critical process of success for Gallaudet University.

Mr Pinchas...

Can you just stop chasing this lady? You are unfit... and a piece of crap. Can't wait to see your tombstone saying "Gee... wish I ever live my life without thinking about CISS and that damn lady!"

Gallaudet alumni giving

I took two Spanish classes under Dr. Ammons. She is one of five BEST professors I had throughout my undergraduate studies at Gallaudet! I am sure everyone else can vouch for Dr. Ammons' outstanding performance as a professor. She is one truly dedicated professor.

As a former development officer at Gallaudet. the alumni giving rate may be the reason why Gallaudet BOT and administration are not taking alumni concerns seriously. Historically, Gallaudet alumni giving rate is between 10 and 15 percent. This is not impressive! The impressive rate should be between 25 and 40 percent. Had the rate been in the latter range, the BOT and administration would have listened more carefully.

However, the protest may lead to higher alumni giving rates in the future after issues are resolved amciably. I hope GUAA will set up a fundraising drive soon.

ALUMNI SUPPORT

I think Dr. Donalda Ammons makes some good points about the importance of GUAA and of alumni in providing financial support. It is true that many corporations, foundations, and other sources will look at alumni donations in their decision to fund university programs, etc.

But I do have one question - Dr. Ammons talks about how much money Gallaudet alumni have raised...but what percentage of alumni actually give money? This is as important as how much is raised. Yes, $500,000 might seem like a good amount of money, but if this only represents 10% of the entire alumni population (the ones who have fat wallets and can afford to write big checks) then that is not really a lot of support. If it is 50% then that is great - it shows that many alumni do support the university.

I know many alumni of different universities and colleges who do not give money to their school after they graduate. They would rather donate their money somewhere else.

It is good to see that Gallaudet alumni do give to the university, but I would still like to know what percentage actually do? How many will now give? How many are actual members of GUAA?

I think we need more statistics...

This is getting boring...

Mr. Pinchas,

Frankly, we are tired of ur crap. All you do is whine. Get a LIFE.

Great Thoughts!

I almost join GUAA but Donalda explained very clearly. I prefer to join GUAA in 100% because I want some inputs to Gally. Last sumer, the board of trustee (Intermin Chairperson) sent a package and it really turns me off. It sounds like they twist me to support Jane Fernandez and ignore other protest. Formal Picture and Formal Brochure..

I want someone from GUAA Officers inform us what it is going on. I will be fully support to GUAA what they think the best for Gallaudet.

Good Job Donalda !

Thanks!

Where do we send our donations to?

THE TWO FACES OF DR. AMMONS

THE TWO FACES OF DR. AMMONS AND COMMENTS BY MR. PINCHAS

Dr. Ammons' videotaped statement in her support for the Gallaudet protesters ( see Dr.Donalda Ammons on the Role of the GUAA, October 4, 2006, www.gufssa.org ) and her speech at the protesters' rally held in the Gallaudet football field's premises, are laudatory.

At that October 4, 2006 afternoon rally, according to the report issued by a reliable www.xanga.com/elisa_abenchuchan website, Dr. Ammons articulated, before a large protesting crowd audience and among the other things, her statements such as,

"I've seen Gallaudet decline. It is awful, I feel depressed. Every year it gets worse and worse."

However, I must state the following.

Dr. Ammons is taking the double standard approach: she believes that the 9th Gallaudet presidential selection process was biased and flawed one, on the one side, while she herself conceals her own professional shortcomings as a deaf leader-role model, including her highly-questionable selection as the top functionary of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf ( "CISS/Deaflympics" ), on the other side.

In spite of her tenured faculty status as a Professor of Foreign Languages at Gallaudet, Dr. Ammons has very regrettably been demonstrating her skills as a still inadequately-qualified and fundamentally incompetent leader of another organization - the CISS/Deaflympics.

Namely, randomly, in self-interest and to the huge detriment of the deaf sports world,

1) Dr. Ammons has since April 1, 2000 and to now been occupying the responsible positions in the CISS/Deaflympics' structure - then as a Secretary General and now as a President - in total non-adherence of the rules of the CISS Constitution;

2) Dr. Ammons, in 2005 at the 39th CISS Congress held in Melbourne, Australia, was elected as the CISS President through a flawed, biased and fraudulent election procedure;

3) Dr. Ammons was in charge of the poorly-prepared and edited Minutes Report of the 37th CISS Congress held in Rome, Italy, in which 53 errors and inconsistencies were recorded;

4) Dr. Ammons supervised the publication of the 2001 CISS Review Book ( 202 errors ) , Results of the 2001 Deaflympic Summer Games Book ( 556 errors ), Results of the 2005 Deaflympic Summer Games Book ( 662 errors ) and Deaflympics Database Project ( 1,576 errors ), in which many grammar mistakes and historical inconsistencies were spotted in each of these publications;

5) Dr. Ammons as a member of the CISS Legal Commission, allowed to commit an aggregate of over 520 rule violations of the CISS Constitution, CISS By-Laws, Deaflympic Games Regulations and Deaf World Championships Regulations between April 1, 2000 and to now;

6) Dr. Ammons, through her acts of cronyism and favoritism, appointed certain deaf and non-deaf individuals to influential positions in the CISS/Deaflympics' hierarchy.

Rafael Pinchas,
Gallaudet Class of 1979 and an authority on the history of the CISS and Deaflympic Summer and Winter Games

Never heard of you, Mr. Pinchas

You clearly don't share the same dreams and spirit of this crowd.

You are a crab, not just a crap.

RESPONSE TO MR PINCHAS

And your reason for bringing this whole issue up is... ???

I've seen this argument from Mr. Pinchas in the past, and it would appear that he continues to bring it up when given the chance.

Whatever his arguments might be in regards to the CISS issues (no matter how accurate they might be), this is neither the time nor the place to discuss them. Dr. Ammons is addressing an entirely different matter, and the focus should be on the issue at hand.

This merely comes across as some type of personal vendetta where Mr. Pinchas wants to do little more than engage in the same silly attack tactics that we see politicians use during their campaigns. I would hope that we could expect better from our Deaf Community, particularly at a time when we are questioning the whole sense of recognition, acceptance, and unity for all.

Please, let's keep the focus where it belongs, and leave the mudslinging to the folks on Capital Hill.

Respectfully,
Virginia L. Beach
