Joe Riggio Providing an update on how the Wisconsin Interpreter Licensure Bill (SB 389) is proceeding.
The Wisconsin Association of the Deaf has more information about this bill.
Notes from Joe :
This is to update you of the progress of SB-389. As I am doing this vlog, it's in the Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader's hands. Senator Russ Decker (D-Wausau) is the Majority Leader. He received phone calls from our community stating their support of SB-389 and requests it be scheduled to the Senate floor for voting. If you haven't contacted his office -- it's not too late to call!
Senator Russ Decker

Inform his office your name (if asked, your address) and state that you are calling to support SB-389 and request his office to schedule for the Senate vote. They will appreciate hearing from you.
Again -- phone number is: 608-266-2502
Please stand by for more updates from one of us. We will ask you to contact your Representatives in the Assembly. I encourage you to go into the website to find out who your Representative is:

Once you know your Representative -- just wait for us to inform you to contact your Representative (We have to wait for Senate to pass the bill first before it arrives in the Assembly level).
We will continue to keep you updated and thank you for being involved in this very important legislative process!
